Good evening everyone and welcome back to my blog!
It’s been a wonderfully sunny day down here on the Isle of Wight so I hope it is lovely wherever you are too.
Today’s post is going to be a bit of a short one, but I wanted to share with you one of my favourite high street shops which I quite often end up finding new make up to add to my ever growing collection.
So as you can see in the picture above, this is my latest haul.
Now as every girl knows, you can never have too many eyeshadows, whether that be palettes or individual pots. I’m sure I already have similar shades as the two above in a palette somewhere but I’m also sure these will be just slightly lighter/darker. At the moment I am loving the Rimmel and Maxfactor colours, these are so subtle for everyday wear if you want something quite light on the eyes. However, I could imagine these under a nice shimmery eye shadow for an evening look.
The Rimmel eyeshadow does come with an applicator brush, but I prefer to apply eye shadow with a Spectrum brush. I’ll pop a link below if you would like to purchase the same one. I have never tried Spectrum before but I recently received one in the February Birchbox, and I have been hooked ever since! This particular brush is white and rose gold and the bristles have very good density. This is a great brush for blending but also if you only want to apply minimal colour.
I’ve also recently gotten really into eye liner, whether that be pencils or gel. The one above is actually a very dark green from the Kate Rimmel range. It comes with a handy applicator brush so I personally find it much easier to apply than the pencil and you can also easily determine how think or thin you would like the lines.
The final product from my haul is a Nails Inc nail polish. Nails Inc is one of my favourite nail polish companies because the polish itself is so easy to use and lasts for absolutely ages! This particular shade is called ‘Sheraton Street’ and is a beautiful pastel blue shade. Perfect for sunny spring days!
Now you will have probably realised by now, that I haven’t actually told you where I bought any of this from. And what I am about to write may come as a shock to some of you.
All of the products featured in this post actually come from Poundland!!! I know, I can barely believe it myself! If you are reading this article from a location not in the UK, Poundland is a high street store which sells everything for £1. This includes branded and unbranded products. Now, their make up range is usually pretty good, and if you have the time to sift through all the packaged products, you can usually find a nice bargain.
I have included details of the eye shadow and gel eye liner shades below in case you would like to purchase these for yourself.
As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog and pop in the comments section any suggestions of what you might like to see.
Until next time,
