So the time to return to work is fast approaching, and there are sales galore to keep the depression at bay. Earlier this month I really wanted to treat myself to the Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette but unfortunately it was sold out. Thankfully it is now back in stock here!
Anyway, I was in the market for some new eyeshadow palettes and for the past month or so Superdrug have been running various special offers. If you read my previous post you will have seen the palette which made me fall in love with Makeup Revolution. This is a brand which are well-known for creating dupe palettes at a fraction of the price, while still maintaining that big brand quality. Fallen in love with the Two Faced Chocolate palettes? Well Makeup Revolution have just released their latest take on the famous palette. Always wanted one of the Morphe 350 palettes (or maybe both!)? Well Makeup Revolution have their own. They even have lip kits to rival that of Kylie’s! Naturally I was intrigued and I spent some of my hard-earned cash on a couple of palettes:
The range of colours across all of these palettes will take you from daytime in the office to down the pub later in the evening. The ‘Love the Revolution and ‘Bold as Brass’ palettes also include highlighters which compliment the eyeshadow colours beautifully. You could even be bold and include these on your eyes for added impact.
The Soph X palette includes 24 beautiful daytime and nighttime shades (14 matte and 10 shimmer). There are plenty of transition shades in there to create the perfect smokey eye, or just a classic natural look. If you’re like me and love warm tones, this palette is definitely for you. For those occasions when a pop of colour is needed, this palette does not disappoint. The packaging is pretty good, there is a large mirror inside so applying on the go is made easier. My one complaint with the palette is that the names of each eyeshadow are not included on the back, there is just a clear film inside which will likely be lost. All the palettes are plastic but seem to be fairly good quality
So, if you really want one of those high-end palettes but your budget is just not allowing it right now, definitely try Makeup Revolution. Palettes start from just £4 for 12 colours right up to £15 for the Pro HD Amplified which includes 35 colours. I have included some of my very favourite items below for some inspiration:
Until next time,
