Well we’re almost at the end of December and the beginning of a new year. While the majority of folk are now recovering from the festive period, I thought I would have a look back through some of my beauty box favourites from this past year and share these with you. There are also a few products which unfortunately did not impress me. Well, lets face it. Every favourites post needs to include a few fails!
I currently subscribe to two beauty boxes, Birchbox and Glossybox. Both are £10 a month plus P&P. So it’s roughly £25 a month for both. So twice a month a surprise box arrives (who doesn’t love surprises!!) and every month I try out 10-12 products. Birchbox tends to mostly include sample sized items apart from maybe one or two full size. Glossybox usually includes 5 full size items, all of highish retail value so you definitely get your money’s worth.
So lets get to the favourites:
Spectrum brushes received from Birchbox – literally the best brushes I have ever used.
Naobay Equilibria Gel to Milk Cleanser – leaves skin feeling wonderfully clean and refreshed.
Model Co Contour Stick – easiest way to contour in a hurry and a very complimentary every day shade.
Benefit Hoola bronzer – fabulous for a natural everyday look or can even be used as a transition shade for eye looks.
Dr Paw Paw Multipurpose Soothing Balm – great for chapped lips, sunburn or those horrible dry patches!
Beauty UK Contour brush – this brush has great multi use. Can be used to contour, powder and even highlight!!!
Benefit Porefessional – probably one of the best mattifying primers out there if you suffer from oily skin like me.
Makeup Revolution Mermaids VS Unicorn – the palette that made me fall in love with Makeup Revolution. Great pigment and very blendable.
Baija Body Scrub – not only does it smell INCREDIBLE, but it is a great exfoliator.
And then the products which just didn’t make the cut. I would just like to say I am not bashing the brands or the products at all. They just didn’t work for me personally, but that doesn’t mean someone else won’t love them.
Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste – why would I want to use a paste that is likely messy when I’m late for work?! The classic spray on dry shampoo is a life and time saver.
Collection Define & Perfect Precision Powder – pigment in this isn’t great for brows. Probably good for those who just want to give their brows depth but after years of over-plucking I need something more substantial.
Native Unearthed Natural Deodorant – so it doesn’t have all the nasties of an aerosol but its a balm. Hardly a 30 second job is it?
STYLondon Siligel Blender – I know hundreds of you love the gel blenders because it doesn’t soak up product but this just isn’t for me. I’m too in love with my Spectrum blender.
I hope the above might have helped with some post Xmas shopping sprees or maybe just inspired you to try something new. All products have been linked (even those I didn’t rate highly) just in case you fancy a look Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a fabulous week.
